SIA Upskilling and Physical Intervention
If you qualified for an SIA licence between 2004 and 2010 you’ll need to do the Level 2 Upskilling course for SIA licence holders before a licence renewal will be granted. The specification for this programme changed in January 2015 and now is a two day training programme.
This course covers content that has changed since licensing was first introduced, including developments in counterterrorism, first aid and protection of children and young persons.
The main part of this training is the Physical Intervention unit as the SIA recognise that security staff are likely to use physical intervention as part of their role in the private security sector. This training is about safety awareness for yourself as a security operative and equip security operatives with the skills to safeguard the public.
A19 Skills deliver these programmes as open courses for single learners as well as across the UK for groups of 5 or more. Click here to make an enquiry if you and your team of 5 or more would like to train together in a single day at your place of work or at one of our delivery sites.
